Showard’s Support Grows 2017 Donation!
With the support of Showard Law Firm, we were able to increase our donation to Arizona Oncology from the $5,500 check presented at the event, to $7,000. This is the largest donation yet, and we couldn’t have done it without our partnership with Showard. This brings our total raised in just four years to over $20,000!
Showard sponsored our 2017 Chick Pit in the Vaquero Club. This amazing, all-women law firm has been fighting for women and men who have been injured or lost loved ones due to defective drugs and medical devices for more than 10 years. Some of the toughest cases include:
- Birth Defect Lawsuits
- Hip Implants
- Power Morcellater
- Surgical Infections
- Talcum Powder
- Transvaginal Mesh
The firm also handles cases involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability and product liability.
But what we love best about Showard is the firm’s commitment to giving back to the community. As Sarah Showard says, “At Showard Law Firm, it’s our job to help those in need. We feel strongly about supporting community organizations and maintaining a high level of community involvement.”

“We’re so grateful for the Chicks n Chaps and their support of our programs,” says Beck O’Hara, development director for the AZ Oncology Foundation. “We love working with this group. Their passion, their commitment to helping breast cancer patients and their families fight this awful disease is heartwarming, and they keep growing every year. Tucson is fortunate to have this group.”
Next year’s Chicks n Chaps event will be held February 18 at the Tucson Rodeo. Mark your calendars now!
The Many Shades of Pink
When we say, “your support stays in Tucson,” what does that mean? We thought we’d check in with Becky O’Hara, development director for the Arizona Oncology Foundation, and ask her if she could break down what our first year’s donation of $4,800 really meant for people dealing with breast cancer. We were amazed–and frankly so proud–to hear how much it helped!
“Last year, the $4,800 donated from this event helped us provide 1,673 wigs and head coverings; 146 breast prosthetics; and 217 bras and camisoles to breast cancer patients,” O’Hara said. “All of this, while providing semi-monthly breast cancer support groups and hosting the “Look Good Feel Better” hair and skin care sessions to 13 women fighting breast cancer! This support makes a huge difference for those battling breast cancer because together is always better when it comes to fighting cancer.”
Perhaps you know one of these women who received these services in the past year, or you just want to help those in need. Whatever your motivation, please join us February 19 as we help the Many Shades of Pink in our community!
